St. Mary’s motto is to create leader of tomorrow and there is a special ceremony that turns this into reality. For us, Investiture ceremony is not just about providing titles, but about conferring responsibility to the students, to take charge of the school and take it to the height they desire with their leadership and decision making skills, communication and teamwork.

At this ceremony, a school prefectorial board is formed after scrutinous interviewing and selection which gives them a feel of functioning of an official administrative body. The selected students are honoured with their respective badges and the student council members take an oath to faithfully work for the school. Our Principal Sr. Tesvin, also encourages them to put in honest efforts for every endeavour and become an inspiration for others.

The investiture ceremony of St. Mary’s Convent School for the academic session 2020-21 was held in a unique but dignified manner. It was conducted with high of earnestness and passion.

The investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers doming the mantle of accountability. They also pledged to execute their duties to the best of their abilities. The school council took the pledge to hold the school motto of loyalty, truth and honour.

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. The investiture ceremony of St. Mary’s Convent School for the academic session 2019-20 was held with great dignity. The event was presided over by the honorable Sister Principal. It was conducted with high degree of earnestness and passion.

The ceremony was held with lot of zeal and zest. The march by all the prefects was a spectacular event. The elected leaders profiles were read out while they were conferred with badges and sashes by our honorable Sister Principal. The students’ council took the pledge to hold the school motto of loyalty, truth and honor in high esteem. The Principal appreciated and congratulated them. She advised them to be role models and extended a support hand to the students’ council for the smooth running of the school.

The student council of this nearly three score aged St. Mary’s is a formal body of carefully selected rank holders who vie each other for these coveted posts.

Investiture ceremony at St. Mary’s school is a ceremonious and formal induction of power status and responsibilities on the office bearers. It was held in the campus of the laudable institution were the newly elected office bearers were decorated with badges by our virtuous Sr. Principal. The day was graced by the presence of Dilip Mukherjee Director Boston University U.S. as the guest of honour. It was a solemn affair with appropriate decorum and panache.

St. Mary’s Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony for the session 2017-2018 was conducted on 23-Feb-2017 and the deserving young talents of the school were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their school with their commitment, confidence and competence.

Principal Sr. Nirmalet congratulated the members and inspired them to do their work with commitment and dedication. They must keep patience and be transparent as these are essential features of democracy.

They must perform all the duties entrusted to them passionately and up keep the discipline of the school. They must shoulder their responsibility sincerely & take the school to the highest of glory. With these words of wisdom & good wishes the ceremony was concluded.

Democracy is a chief component of freedom. And a good democracy succeeds with an equal participation of all the citizens of a country. St. Mary's provides a rostrum to its wards to experience the democratic ways. The school forms a council of leaders by selecting a group of responsible students to take up the challenging task of maintaining discipline in the school. To do this task in a regulated way, responsible students are nominated for the post of school perfect, v. perfect and house leaders. Each nominee is awarded a chance to introduce himself/herself and tell the students what they would do , if elected. The members of each house are given a chance to vote for the leader of their choice. The votes are counted by the teachers and those with highest votes are declared as leaders. A group of ten leaders is selected, by this process. A special "Installation Ceremony" is held, to induct the elected members to the school council. This ceremony includes a March past. Guard of Honour (taken by the Principal) and the oath ceremony. The elected perfects take pride in promising that they would do their best to keep the honour of the school and to help the teachers in maintaining the discipline of the school.

School Council acts as the backbone of the school. It consist of 16 leaders,2 school leaders ,2 vice leaders, 2 sports leaders, 2 vice sport leaders and 8 house leaders( 2 for each house, one perfect and other vice prefect). There job is to maintain discipline and help in organizing all the events held in the school. They make sure that everything is well-organized. They are the representatives of the school and uphold the school's reputation. They try to set good examples for everyone, especially juniors. They hold examples of ideal leaders for others and act as inspiration for others.

Now-a-days everyone is concerned about the environmental degradation in the world. Hence, to save the environment from further deterioration, the present generation is to be enriched and encouraged for the pollution free environment and healthy living. Different programmes are introduced through Eco-Club, to make children understand the importance and role of nature in the life of human beings.

Students can achieve scores without really understanding or questioning what they have learnt. To create interest in science curriculum reforms have been introduced. Science club makes learning science as a pleasure to actively participate to quest their knowledge.
